CVE-2017-5356 2 Debian, Irssi 2 Debian Linux, Irssi 2025-04-20 N/A
Irssi before 0.8.21 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read and crash) via a string containing a formatting sequence (%[) without a closing bracket (]).
CVE-2017-11565 1 Debian 1 Tor 2025-04-20 N/A
debian/tor.init in the Debian tor_0.2.9.11-1~deb9u1 package for Tor was designed to execute aa-exec from the standard system pathname if the apparmor package is installed, but implements this incorrectly (with a wrong assumption that the specific pathname would remain the same forever), which allows attackers to bypass intended AppArmor restrictions by leveraging the silent loss of this protection mechanism. NOTE: this does not affect systems, such as default Debian stretch installations, on which Tor startup relies on a systemd unit file (instead of this tor.init script).
CVE-2017-11424 2 Debian, Pyjwt Project 2 Debian Linux, Pyjwt 2025-04-20 N/A
In PyJWT 1.5.0 and below the `invalid_strings` check in `HMACAlgorithm.prepare_key` does not account for all PEM encoded public keys. Specifically, the PKCS1 PEM encoded format would be allowed because it is prefaced with the string `-----BEGIN RSA PUBLIC KEY-----` which is not accounted for. This enables symmetric/asymmetric key confusion attacks against users using the PKCS1 PEM encoded public keys, which would allow an attacker to craft JWTs from scratch.
CVE-2017-11434 2 Debian, Qemu 2 Debian Linux, Qemu 2025-04-20 5.5 Medium
The dhcp_decode function in slirp/bootp.c in QEMU (aka Quick Emulator) allows local guest OS users to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read and QEMU process crash) via a crafted DHCP options string.
CVE-2017-10806 2 Debian, Qemu 2 Debian Linux, Qemu 2025-04-20 5.5 Medium
Stack-based buffer overflow in hw/usb/redirect.c in QEMU (aka Quick Emulator) allows local guest OS users to cause a denial of service (QEMU process crash) via vectors related to logging debug messages.
CVE-2017-1000407 4 Canonical, Debian, Linux and 1 more 13 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Linux Kernel and 10 more 2025-04-20 N/A
The Linux Kernel 2.6.32 and later are affected by a denial of service, by flooding the diagnostic port 0x80 an exception can be triggered leading to a kernel panic.
CVE-2017-1000115 3 Debian, Mercurial, Redhat 9 Debian Linux, Mercurial, Enterprise Linux and 6 more 2025-04-20 N/A
Mercurial prior to version 4.3 is vulnerable to a missing symlink check that can malicious repositories to modify files outside the repository
CVE-2016-9939 2 Cryptopp, Debian 2 Crypto\+\+, Debian Linux 2025-04-20 N/A
Crypto++ (aka cryptopp and libcrypto++) 5.6.4 contained a bug in its ASN.1 BER decoding routine. The library will allocate a memory block based on the length field of the ASN.1 object. If there is not enough content octets in the ASN.1 object, then the function will fail and the memory block will be zeroed even if its unused. There is a noticeable delay during the wipe for a large allocation.
CVE-2016-8683 3 Debian, Graphicsmagick, Opensuse 3 Debian Linux, Graphicsmagick, Opensuse 2025-04-20 N/A
The ReadPCXImage function in coders/pcx.c in GraphicsMagick 1.3.25 allows remote attackers to have unspecified impact via a crafted image, which triggers a memory allocation failure and a "file truncation error for corrupt file."
CVE-2017-9780 2 Debian, Flatpak 2 Debian Linux, Flatpak 2025-04-20 N/A
In Flatpak before 0.8.7, a third-party app repository could include malicious apps that contain files with inappropriate permissions, for example setuid or world-writable. The files are deployed with those permissions, which would let a local attacker run the setuid executable or write to the world-writable location. In the case of the "system helper" component, files deployed as part of the app are owned by root, so in the worst case they could be setuid root.
CVE-2017-9776 3 Debian, Freedesktop, Redhat 9 Debian Linux, Poppler, Enterprise Linux and 6 more 2025-04-20 N/A
Integer overflow leading to Heap buffer overflow in JBIG2Stream.cc in pdftocairo in Poppler before 0.56 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted PDF document.
CVE-2017-9611 2 Artifex, Debian 2 Ghostscript, Debian Linux 2025-04-20 7.8 High
The Ins_MIRP function in base/ttinterp.c in Artifex Ghostscript GhostXPS 9.21 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (heap-based buffer over-read and application crash) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted document.
CVE-2016-5018 6 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 3 more 16 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 13 more 2025-04-20 9.1 Critical
In Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.0.M9, 8.5.0 to 8.5.4, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.36, 7.0.0 to 7.0.70 and 6.0.0 to 6.0.45 a malicious web application was able to bypass a configured SecurityManager via a Tomcat utility method that was accessible to web applications.
CVE-2017-9403 3 Canonical, Debian, Libtiff 3 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Libtiff 2025-04-20 N/A
In LibTIFF 4.0.7, a memory leak vulnerability was found in the function TIFFReadDirEntryLong8Array in tif_dirread.c, which allows attackers to cause a denial of service via a crafted file.
CVE-2017-15098 3 Debian, Postgresql, Redhat 3 Debian Linux, Postgresql, Rhel Software Collections 2025-04-20 N/A
Invalid json_populate_recordset or jsonb_populate_recordset function calls in PostgreSQL 10.x before 10.1, 9.6.x before 9.6.6, 9.5.x before 9.5.10, 9.4.x before 9.4.15, and 9.3.x before 9.3.20 can crash the server or disclose a few bytes of server memory.
CVE-2016-2366 3 Canonical, Debian, Pidgin 3 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Pidgin 2025-04-20 N/A
A denial of service vulnerability exists in the handling of the MXIT protocol in Pidgin. Specially crafted MXIT data sent via the server could potentially result in an out-of-bounds read. A malicious server or an attacker who intercepts the network traffic can send invalid data to trigger this vulnerability and cause a crash.
CVE-2016-2318 4 Debian, Graphicsmagick, Opensuse and 1 more 7 Debian Linux, Graphicsmagick, Leap and 4 more 2025-04-20 N/A
GraphicsMagick 1.3.23 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference) via a crafted SVG file, related to the (1) DrawImage function in magick/render.c, (2) SVGStartElement function in coders/svg.c, and (3) TraceArcPath function in magick/render.c.
CVE-2016-1255 2 Canonical, Debian 3 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Postgresql-common 2025-04-20 N/A
The pg_ctlcluster script in postgresql-common package in Debian wheezy before 134wheezy5, in Debian jessie before 165+deb8u2, in Debian unstable before 178, in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS before 129ubuntu1.2, in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS before 154ubuntu1.1, in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS before 173ubuntu0.1, in Ubuntu 17.04 before 179ubuntu0.1, and in Ubuntu 17.10 before 184ubuntu1.1 allows local users to gain root privileges via a symlink attack on a logfile in /var/log/postgresql.
CVE-2017-14604 3 Debian, Gnome, Redhat 3 Debian Linux, Nautilus, Enterprise Linux 2025-04-20 6.5 Medium
GNOME Nautilus before 3.23.90 allows attackers to spoof a file type by using the .desktop file extension, as demonstrated by an attack in which a .desktop file's Name field ends in .pdf but this file's Exec field launches a malicious "sh -c" command. In other words, Nautilus provides no UI indication that a file actually has the potentially unsafe .desktop extension; instead, the UI only shows the .pdf extension. One (slightly) mitigating factor is that an attack requires the .desktop file to have execute permission. The solution is to ask the user to confirm that the file is supposed to be treated as a .desktop file, and then remember the user's answer in the metadata::trusted field.
CVE-2017-15041 3 Debian, Golang, Redhat 9 Debian Linux, Go, Developer Tools and 6 more 2025-04-20 9.8 Critical
Go before 1.8.4 and 1.9.x before 1.9.1 allows "go get" remote command execution. Using custom domains, it is possible to arrange things so that example.com/pkg1 points to a Subversion repository but example.com/pkg1/pkg2 points to a Git repository. If the Subversion repository includes a Git checkout in its pkg2 directory and some other work is done to ensure the proper ordering of operations, "go get" can be tricked into reusing this Git checkout for the fetch of code from pkg2. If the Subversion repository's Git checkout has malicious commands in .git/hooks/, they will execute on the system running "go get."
