CVE-2026-22753 2 Spring, Vmware 2 Spring Security, Spring Security 2026-04-28 7.5 High
Vulnerability in Spring Spring Security. If an application is using securityMatchers(String) and a PathPatternRequestMatcher.Builder bean to prepend a servlet path, matching requests to that filter chain may fail and its related security components will not be exercised as intended by the application. This can lead to the authentication, authorization, and other security controls being rendered inactive on intended requests. This issue affects Spring Security: from 7.0.0 through 7.0.4.
CVE-2026-22754 2 Spring, Vmware 2 Spring Security, Spring Security 2026-04-28 7.5 High
Vulnerability in Spring Spring Security. If an application uses <sec:intercept-url servlet-path="/servlet-path" pattern="/endpoint/**"/> to define the servlet path for computing a path matcher, then the servlet path is not included and the related authorization rules are not exercised. This can lead to an authorization bypass. This issue affects Spring Security: from 7.0.0 through 7.0.4.
CVE-2026-22747 2 Spring, Vmware 2 Spring Security, Spring Security 2026-04-28 6.8 Medium
Vulnerability in Spring Spring Security. SubjectX500PrincipalExtractor does not correctly handle certain malformed X.509 certificate CN values, which can lead to reading the wrong value for the username. CVE-2025-41248 1 Vmware 1 Spring Security 2026-04-15 7.5 High
The Spring Security annotation detection mechanism may not correctly resolve annotations on methods within type hierarchies with a parameterized super type with unbounded generics. This can be an issue when using @PreAuthorize and other method security annotations, resulting in an authorization bypass. Your application may be affected by this if you are using Spring Security's @EnableMethodSecurity feature. You are not affected by this if you are not using @EnableMethodSecurity or if you do not use security annotations on methods in generic superclasses or generic interfaces. This CVE is published in conjunction with CVE-2025-41249 https://spring.io/security/cve-2025-41249 .
CVE-2019-11272 3 Debian, Redhat, Vmware 3 Debian Linux, Jboss Fuse, Spring Security 2025-09-12 7.3 High
Spring Security, versions 4.2.x up to 4.2.12, and older unsupported versions support plain text passwords using PlaintextPasswordEncoder. If an application using an affected version of Spring Security is leveraging PlaintextPasswordEncoder and a user has a null encoded password, a malicious user (or attacker) can authenticate using a password of "null".
CVE-2023-34042 1 Vmware 1 Spring Security 2025-06-03 4.1 Medium
The spring-security.xsd file inside the spring-security-config jar is world writable which means that if it were extracted it could be written by anyone with access to the file system. While there are no known exploits, this is an example of “CWE-732: Incorrect Permission Assignment for Critical Resource” and could result in an exploit. Users should update to the latest version of Spring Security to mitigate any future exploits found around this issue.
CVE-2022-31690 3 Netapp, Redhat, Vmware 5 Active Iq Unified Manager, Migration Toolkit Applications, Migration Toolkit Runtimes and 2 more 2025-05-08 8.1 High
Spring Security, versions 5.7 prior to 5.7.5, and 5.6 prior to 5.6.9, and older unsupported versions could be susceptible to a privilege escalation under certain conditions. A malicious user or attacker can modify a request initiated by the Client (via the browser) to the Authorization Server which can lead to a privilege escalation on the subsequent approval. This scenario can happen if the Authorization Server responds with an OAuth2 Access Token Response containing an empty scope list (per RFC 6749, Section 5.1) on the subsequent request to the token endpoint to obtain the access token.
CVE-2022-31692 3 Netapp, Redhat, Vmware 4 Active Iq Unified Manager, Jboss Fuse, Openshift and 1 more 2025-05-06 9.8 Critical
Spring Security, versions 5.7 prior to 5.7.5 and 5.6 prior to 5.6.9 could be susceptible to authorization rules bypass via forward or include dispatcher types. Specifically, an application is vulnerable when all of the following are true: The application expects that Spring Security applies security to forward and include dispatcher types. The application uses the AuthorizationFilter either manually or via the authorizeHttpRequests() method. The application configures the FilterChainProxy to apply to forward and/or include requests (e.g. spring.security.filter.dispatcher-types = request, error, async, forward, include). The application may forward or include the request to a higher privilege-secured endpoint. The application configures Spring Security to apply to every dispatcher type via authorizeHttpRequests().shouldFilterAllDispatcherTypes(true)
