An out-of-bounds stack write flaw was found in unixODBC on 64-bit architectures where the caller has 4 bytes and callee writes 8 bytes. This issue may go unnoticed on little-endian architectures, while big-endian architectures can be broken.
CVE-2022-50117 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2025-11-18 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vfio: Split migration ops from main device ops vfio core checks whether the driver sets some migration op (e.g. set_state/get_state) and accordingly calls its op. However, currently mlx5 driver sets the above ops without regards to its migration caps. This might lead to unexpected usage/Oops if user space may call to the above ops even if the driver doesn't support migration. As for example, the migration state_mutex is not initialized in that case. The cleanest way to manage that seems to split the migration ops from the main device ops, this will let the driver setting them separately from the main ops when it's applicable. As part of that, validate ops construction on registration and include a check for VFIO_MIGRATION_STOP_COPY since the uAPI claims it must be set in migration_flags. HISI driver was changed as well to match this scheme. This scheme may enable down the road to come with some extra group of ops (e.g. DMA log) that can be set without regards to the other options based on driver caps.
CVE-2022-50066 2 Linux, Redhat 5 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus and 2 more 2025-11-17 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: atlantic: fix aq_vec index out of range error The final update statement of the for loop exceeds the array range, the dereference of self->aq_vec[i] is not checked and then leads to the index out of range error. Also fixed this kind of coding style in other for loop. CVE-2022-49995 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-11-14 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: writeback: avoid use-after-free after removing device When a disk is removed, bdi_unregister gets called to stop further writeback and wait for associated delayed work to complete. However, wb_inode_writeback_end() may schedule bandwidth estimation dwork after this has completed, which can result in the timer attempting to access the just freed bdi_writeback. Fix this by checking if the bdi_writeback is alive, similar to when scheduling writeback work. Since this requires wb->work_lock, and wb_inode_writeback_end() may get called from interrupt, switch wb->work_lock to an irqsafe lock.

CVE-2024-29073 2 Ankitects, Ankiweb 2 Anki, Anki 2025-11-04 5.3 Medium
An vulnerability in the handling of Latex exists in Ankitects Anki 24.04. When Latex is sanitized to prevent unsafe commands, the verbatim package, which comes installed by default in many Latex distributions, has been overlooked. A specially crafted flashcard can lead to an arbitrary file read. An attacker can share a flashcard to trigger this vulnerability.
CVE-2024-42416 1 Freebsd 1 Freebsd 2025-11-04 8.4 High
The ctl_report_supported_opcodes function did not sufficiently validate a field provided by userspace, allowing an arbitrary write to a limited amount of kernel help memory. Malicious software running in a guest VM that exposes virtio_scsi can exploit the vulnerabilities to achieve code execution on the host in the bhyve userspace process, which typically runs as root. Note that bhyve runs in a Capsicum sandbox, so malicious code is constrained by the capabilities available to the bhyve process. A malicious iSCSI initiator could achieve remote code execution on the iSCSI target host.

CVE-2024-42126 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-11-03 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: powerpc: Avoid nmi_enter/nmi_exit in real mode interrupt. nmi_enter()/nmi_exit() touches per cpu variables which can lead to kernel crash when invoked during real mode interrupt handling (e.g. early HMI/MCE interrupt handler) if percpu allocation comes from vmalloc area. Early HMI/MCE handlers are called through DEFINE_INTERRUPT_HANDLER_NMI() wrapper which invokes nmi_enter/nmi_exit calls. We don't see any issue when percpu allocation is from the embedded first chunk. However with CONFIG_NEED_PER_CPU_PAGE_FIRST_CHUNK enabled there are chances where percpu allocation can come from the vmalloc area. With kernel command line "percpu_alloc=page" we can force percpu allocation to come from vmalloc area and can see kernel crash in machine_check_early: [ 1.215714] NIP [c000000000e49eb4] rcu_nmi_enter+0x24/0x110 [ 1.215717] LR [c0000000000461a0] machine_check_early+0xf0/0x2c0 [ 1.215719] --- interrupt: 200 [ 1.215720] [c000000fffd73180] [0000000000000000] 0x0 (unreliable) [ 1.215722] [c000000fffd731b0] [0000000000000000] 0x0 [ 1.215724] [c000000fffd73210] [c000000000008364] machine_check_early_common+0x134/0x1f8 Fix this by avoiding use of nmi_enter()/nmi_exit() in real mode if percpu first chunk is not embedded.
