CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Bluetooth: bnep: Fix UAF read of dev->name
bnep_add_connection() needs to keep holding the bnep_session_sem while
reading dev->name (just like bnep_get_connlist() does); otherwise the
bnep_session() thread can concurrently free the net_device, which can for
example be triggered by a concurrent bnep_del_connection().
(This UAF is fairly uninteresting from a security perspective;
calling bnep_add_connection() requires passing a capable(CAP_NET_ADMIN)
check. It also requires completely tearing down a netdev during a fairly
tight race window.) |

| An issue in MongoDB Server's handling of timeseries bucket lifecycle could allow an authenticated user with write privileges to cause an internal reference to be used after the underlying memory has been freed. Subsequent operations could then result in a server crash or, potentially, execution of unintended code. |
| An issue in MongoDB Server's geospatial validation could allow an authenticated user with write privileges to cause an internal reference to be used after the underlying memory has been freed, through concurrent operations against a collection using a certain type of validator. This could result in a server crash, leading to a denial of service. |
| An issue in MongoDB Server's query execution engine could allow an authenticated user with read and write privileges to cause an internal reference to be used after the underlying memory has been freed, when running certain queries against time-series collections. This could result in a server crash or disclosure of freed memory contents within query results. |
| An issue in MongoDB Server's $graphLookup aggregation stage could allow an authenticated user able to issue aggregation and memory-management commands to cause an internal reference to be used after the underlying memory has been freed. This could result in a server crash or, potentially, execution of unintended code. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ice: fix double-free of tx_buf skb
If ice_tso() or ice_tx_csum() fail, the error path in
ice_xmit_frame_ring() frees the skb, but the 'first' tx_buf still points
to it and is marked as valid (ICE_TX_BUF_SKB).
'next_to_use' remains unchanged, so the potential problem will
likely fix itself when the next packet is transmitted and the tx_buf
gets overwritten. But if there is no next packet and the interface is
brought down instead, ice_clean_tx_ring() -> ice_unmap_and_free_tx_buf()
will find the tx_buf and free the skb for the second time.
The fix is to reset the tx_buf type to ICE_TX_BUF_EMPTY in the error
path, so that ice_unmap_and_free_tx_buf().
Move the initialization of 'first' up, to ensure it's already valid in
case we hit the linearization error path.
The bug was spotted by AI while I had it looking for something else.
It also proposed an initial version of the patch.
I reproduced the bug and tested the fix by adding code to inject
failures, on a build with KASAN.
I looked for similar bugs in related Intel drivers and did not find any. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amd/display: Do not skip unrelated mode changes in DSC validation
Starting with commit 17ce8a6907f7 ("drm/amd/display: Add dsc pre-validation in
atomic check"), amdgpu resets the CRTC state mode_changed flag to false when
recomputing the DSC configuration results in no timing change for a particular
stream.
However, this is incorrect in scenarios where a change in MST/DSC configuration
happens in the same KMS commit as another (unrelated) mode change. For example,
the integrated panel of a laptop may be configured differently (e.g., HDR
enabled/disabled) depending on whether external screens are attached. In this
case, plugging in external DP-MST screens may result in the mode_changed flag
being dropped incorrectly for the integrated panel if its DSC configuration
did not change during precomputation in pre_validate_dsc().
At this point, however, dm_update_crtc_state() has already created new streams
for CRTCs with DSC-independent mode changes. In turn,
amdgpu_dm_commit_streams() will never release the old stream, resulting in a
memory leak. amdgpu_dm_atomic_commit_tail() will never acquire a reference to
the new stream either, which manifests as a use-after-free when the stream gets
disabled later on:

Since there is no reliable way of figuring out whether a CRTC has unrelated
mode changes pending at the time of DSC validation, remember the value of the
mode_changed flag from before the point where a CRTC was marked as potentially
affected by a change in DSC configuration. Reset the mode_changed flag to this
earlier value instead in pre_validate_dsc().

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netdev: fix double-free in netdev_nl_bind_rx_doit()
Sashiko flags that genlmsg_reply() always consumes the skb.
The error path calls nlmsg_free(rsp) so we can't jump directly
to it. Let's not unbind, just propagate the error to the user.
This is the typical way of handling genlmsg_reply() failures.
They shouldn't happen unless user does something silly like
calling the kernel with an already-full rcvbuf. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
idpf: fix double free and use-after-free in aux device error paths
When auxiliary_device_add() fails in idpf_plug_vport_aux_dev() or
idpf_plug_core_aux_dev(), the err_aux_dev_add label calls
auxiliary_device_uninit() and falls through to err_aux_dev_init. The
uninit call will trigger put_device(), which invokes the release
callback (idpf_vport_adev_release / idpf_core_adev_release) that frees
iadev. The fall-through then reads adev->id from the freed iadev for
ida_free() and double-frees iadev with kfree().
Free the IDA slot and clear the back-pointer before uninit, while adev
is still valid, then return immediately.
Commit 65637c3a1811 ("idpf: fix UAF in RDMA core aux dev deinitialization")
fixed the same use-after-free in the matching unplug path in this file but
missed both probe error paths. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
octeontx2-pf: fix double free in rvu_rep_rsrc_init()
rvu_rep_rsrc_init() allocates queue memory before calling
otx2_init_hw_resources(). When hardware resource setup fails,
otx2_init_hw_resources() already unwinds the partially initialized
SQ, CQ, and aura state before returning an error. The representor
error path then calls otx2_free_hw_resources() again and can free
the same resources a second time.
Fix this by splitting the cleanup labels so that a failure from
otx2_init_hw_resources() only releases queue memory. Keep the
otx2_free_hw_resources() call for failures that happen after
hardware resource initialization completed successfully.
The bug was first flagged by an experimental analysis tool we are
developing for kernel memory-management bugs while analyzing
v6.13-rc1. The tool is still under development and is not yet publicly
available. Manual inspection confirms that the bug is still
present in v7.1-rc3.
Runtime validation was not performed because reproducing this path
requires OcteonTX2 representor hardware. |
| A vulnerability has been identified in Solid Edge SE2025 (All versions < V225.0 Update 15), Solid Edge SE2026 (All versions < V226.0 Update 7). The affected applications contain a use-after-free vulnerability that could be triggered while parsing specially crafted DFT files. This could allow an attacker to execute code in the context of the current process. |
| Vim is an open source, command line text editor. From 9.2.0511 until 9.2.0844, json_decode_item() in src/json.c can retain a stale pointer after json_decode_string() invokes channel_fill() to refill and free the current buffer, causing the error path to read freed memory instead of reader->js_buf + reader->js_used when an invalid JSON string spans buffers. This issue is fixed in version 9.2.0844. |
