CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
PCI/AER: Fix NULL pointer access by aer_info
The kzalloc(GFP_KERNEL) may return NULL, so all accesses to aer_info->xxx
will result in kernel panic. Fix it. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ASoC: mediatek: mt8186: Fix use-after-free in driver remove path
When devm runs function in the "remove" path for a device it runs them
in the reverse order. That means that if you have parts of your driver
that aren't using devm or are using "roll your own" devm w/
devm_add_action_or_reset() you need to keep that in mind.
The mt8186 audio driver didn't quite get this right. Specifically, in
mt8186_init_clock() it called mt8186_audsys_clk_register() and then
went on to call a bunch of other devm function. The caller of
mt8186_init_clock() used devm_add_action_or_reset() to call
mt8186_deinit_clock() but, because of the intervening devm functions,
the order was wrong.
Specifically at probe time, the order was:
1. mt8186_audsys_clk_register()
2. afe_priv->clk = devm_kcalloc(...)
3. afe_priv->clk[i] = devm_clk_get(...)
At remove time, the order (which should have been 3, 2, 1) was:
1. mt8186_audsys_clk_unregister()
3. Free all of afe_priv->clk[i]
2. Free afe_priv->clk
The above seemed to be causing a use-after-free. Luckily, it's easy to
fix this by simply using devm more correctly. Let's move the
devm_add_action_or_reset() to the right place. In addition to fixing
the use-after-free, code inspection shows that this fixes a leak
(missing call to mt8186_audsys_clk_unregister()) that would have
happened if any of the syscon_regmap_lookup_by_phandle() calls in
mt8186_init_clock() had failed. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
clk: thead: th1520-ap: set all AXI clocks to CLK_IS_CRITICAL
The AXI crossbar of TH1520 has no proper timeout handling, which means
gating AXI clocks can easily lead to bus timeout and thus system hang.
Set all AXI clock gates to CLK_IS_CRITICAL. All these clock gates are
ungated by default on system reset.
In addition, convert all current CLK_IGNORE_UNUSED usage to
CLK_IS_CRITICAL to prevent unwanted clock gating. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netrom: Fix memory leak in nr_sendmsg()
syzbot reported a memory leak [1].
When function sock_alloc_send_skb() return NULL in nr_output(), the
original skb is not freed, which was allocated in nr_sendmsg(). Fix this
by freeing it before return.

drm/vgem-fence: Fix potential deadlock on release
A timer that expires a vgem fence automatically in 10 seconds is now
released with timer_delete_sync() from fence->ops.release() called on last
dma_fence_put(). In some scenarios, it can run in IRQ context, which is
not safe unless TIMER_IRQSAFE is used. One potentially risky scenario was
demonstrated in Intel DRM CI trybot, BAT run on machine bat-adlp-6, while
working on new IGT subtests syncobj_timeline@stress-* as user space
replacements of some problematic test cases of a dma-fence-chain selftest

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: rtl818x: Fix potential memory leaks in rtl8180_init_rx_ring()
In rtl8180_init_rx_ring(), memory is allocated for skb packets and DMA
allocations in a loop. When an allocation fails, the previously
successful allocations are not freed on exit.
Fix that by jumping to err_free_rings label on error, which calls
rtl8180_free_rx_ring() to free the allocations. Remove the free of
rx_ring in rtl8180_init_rx_ring() error path, and set the freed
priv->rx_buf entry to null, to avoid double free. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
iommu/amd: Fix potential out-of-bounds read in iommu_mmio_show
In iommu_mmio_write(), it validates the user-provided offset with the
check: `iommu->dbg_mmio_offset > iommu->mmio_phys_end - 4`.
This assumes a 4-byte access. However, the corresponding
show handler, iommu_mmio_show(), uses readq() to perform an 8-byte
(64-bit) read.
If a user provides an offset equal to `mmio_phys_end - 4`, the check
passes, and will lead to a 4-byte out-of-bounds read.
Fix this by adjusting the boundary check to use sizeof(u64), which
corresponds to the size of the readq() operation. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bnxt_en: Shutdown FW DMA in bnxt_shutdown()
The netif_close() call in bnxt_shutdown() only stops packet DMA. There
may be FW DMA for trace logging (recently added) that will continue. If
we kexec to a new kernel, the DMA will corrupt memory in the new kernel.
Add bnxt_hwrm_func_drv_unrgtr() to unregister the driver from the FW.
This will stop the FW DMA. In case the call fails, call pcie_flr() to
reset the function and stop the DMA. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ext4: correct grp validation in ext4_mb_good_group
Group corruption check will access memory of grp and will trigger kernel
crash if grp is NULL. So do NULL check before corruption check. |

keys: Fix linking a duplicate key to a keyring's assoc_array
When making a DNS query inside the kernel using dns_query(), the request
code can in rare cases end up creating a duplicate index key in the
assoc_array of the destination keyring. It is eventually found by
a BUG_ON() check in the assoc_array implementation and results in
a crash.

The situation occurs as follows:
* Some kernel facility invokes dns_query() to resolve a hostname, for
example, "abcdef". The function registers its global DNS resolver
cache as current->cred.thread_keyring and passes the query to
request_key_net() -> request_key_tag() -> request_key_and_link().
* Function request_key_and_link() creates a keyring_search_context
object. Its match_data.cmp method gets set via a call to
type->match_preparse() (resolves to dns_resolver_match_preparse()) to
dns_resolver_cmp().
* Function request_key_and_link() continues and invokes
search_process_keyrings_rcu() which returns that a given key was not
found. The control is then passed to request_key_and_link() ->
construct_alloc_key().
* Concurrently to that, a second task similarly makes a DNS query for
"abcdef." and its result gets inserted into the DNS resolver cache.
* Back on the first task, function construct_alloc_key() first runs
__key_link_begin() to determine an assoc_array_edit operation to
insert a new key. Index keys in the array are compared exactly as-is,
using keyring_compare_object(). The operation

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
crypto: hisilicon/qm - request reserved interrupt for virtual function
The device interrupt vector 3 is an error interrupt for
physical function and a reserved interrupt for virtual function.
However, the driver has not registered the reserved interrupt for
virtual function. When allocating interrupts, the number of interrupts
is allocated based on powers of two, which includes this interrupt.
When the system enables GICv4 and the virtual function passthrough
to the virtual machine, releasing the interrupt in the driver
triggers a warning.
The WARNING report is:

Therefore, register a reserved interrupt for VF and set the

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
9p/trans_fd: p9_fd_request: kick rx thread if EPOLLIN
p9_read_work() doesn't set Rworksched and doesn't do schedule_work(m->rq)
if list_empty(&m->req_list).
However, if the pipe is full, we need to read more data and this used to
work prior to commit aaec5a95d59615 ("pipe_read: don't wake up the writer
if the pipe is still full").
p9_read_work() does p9_fd_read() -> ... -> anon_pipe_read() which (before
the commit above) triggered the unnecessary wakeup. This wakeup calls
p9_pollwake() which kicks p9_poll_workfn() -> p9_poll_mux(), p9_poll_mux()
will notice EPOLLIN and schedule_work(&m->rq).
This no longer happens after the optimization above, change p9_fd_request()
to use p9_poll_mux() instead of only checking for EPOLLOUT. |

usb: cdns3: gadget: Use-after-free during failed initialization and exit of cdnsp gadget
In the __cdnsp_gadget_init() and cdnsp_gadget_exit() functions, the gadget
structure (pdev->gadget) was freed before its endpoints.
The endpoints are linked via the ep_list in the gadget structure.
Freeing the gadget first leaves dangling pointers in the endpoint list.
When the endpoints are subsequently freed, this results in a use-after-free.
Fix:
By separating the usb_del_gadget_udc() operation into distinct "del" and
"put" steps, cdnsp_gadget_free_endpoints() can be executed prior to the
final release of the gadget structure with usb_put_gadget().
A patch similar to bb9c74a5bd14("usb: dwc3: gadget: Free gadget structure
only after freeing endpoints"). |

perf/x86/amd: Check event before enable to avoid GPF
On AMD machines cpuc->events[idx] can become NULL in a subtle race
condition with NMI->throttle->x86_pmu_stop().
Check event for NULL in amd_pmu_enable_all() before enable to avoid a GPF.
This appears to be an AMD only issue.
Syzkaller reported a GPF in amd_pmu_enable_all.

drm/mediatek: Fix device use-after-free on unbind
A recent change fixed device reference leaks when looking up drm
platform device driver data during bind() but failed to remove a partial
fix which had been added by commit 80805b62ea5b ("drm/mediatek: Fix
kobject put for component sub-drivers").
This results in a reference imbalance on component bind() failures and
on unbind() which could lead to a user-after-free.
Make sure to only drop the references after retrieving the driver data
by effectively reverting the previous partial fix.
Note that holding a reference to a device does not prevent its driver
data from going away so there is no point in keeping the reference. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
accel/habanalabs: support mapping cb with vmalloc-backed coherent memory
When IOMMU is enabled, dma_alloc_coherent() with GFP_USER may return
addresses from the vmalloc range. If such an address is mapped without
VM_MIXEDMAP, vm_insert_page() will trigger a BUG_ON due to the
VM_PFNMAP restriction.
Fix this by checking for vmalloc addresses and setting VM_MIXEDMAP
in the VMA before mapping. This ensures safe mapping and avoids kernel
crashes. The memory is still driver-allocated and cannot be accessed
directly by userspace. |
