CVE-2026-97555 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix heap overflow in DACL owner/group rewrite When id_mode_to_cifs_acl rewrites an existing DACL, it allocates a buffer sized according to the on-disk DACL length reported by dacl_ptr->size. However, replace_sids_and_copy_aces may rewrite each ACE with a new owner/group SID obtained from the cifs.idmap upcall. Those SIDs can have up to SID_MAX_SUB_AUTHORITIES (15) sub-authorities, making each ACE up to 76 bytes (sizeof(struct smb_ace)). If the original DACL contains short SIDs (e.g., 1 sub-authority) while the replacement SIDs are long, the rewritten ACEs overflow the allocation. Fix this by always budgeting for worst-case SID expansion: allocate sizeof(struct smb_acl) plus num_aces * sizeof(struct smb_ace), which covers the smb_acl header and room for every ACE at maximum SID size. This replaces the previous split logic that used dacl_ptr->size for cifsacl mounts but num_aces * sizeof(struct smb_ace) for mode_from_sid mounts: both paths can trigger the same rewrite and need the same headroom. KASAN reports this as: BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in build_sec_desc+0x1e8a/0x2680 [cifs] Write of size 4 at addr ffff8881a5e25374 by task chown/5298 ... CVE-2026-98142 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/cirrus-qemu: Validate BAR0 size during probe The `cirrus-qemu` driver relies on `CIRRUS_VRAM_SIZE` (4 MB) to validate framebuffer sizes. However, during PCI probe, the driver mapped BAR0 without verifying that its size matches `CIRRUS_VRAM_SIZE`. If a PCI device with a BAR0 smaller than 4 MB is bound to the driver, the mapped VRAM will be smaller than expected. Because validation checks assume 4 MB VRAM, framebuffers larger than the mapped memory can be created. When the display plane is updated (e.g. during release), `cirrus_primary_plane_helper_atomic_update()` copies the framebuffer to VRAM using `drm_fb_memcpy()`. Writing past the end of the mapped I/O memory causes a supervisor write page fault: BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: ffffc9000389c000 ... RIP: 0010:memcpy_toio+0x7c/0xe0 arch/x86/lib/iomem.c:110 ... CVE-2026-93266 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: arm64: RSI: fix field-spanning write warning in attestation token init The challenge is passed in registers a1 through a8. However, copying to &regs.a1 makes FORTIFY treat the destination as the single a1 field, resulting in a field-spanning write warning. [1] Overlay the SMCCC register structure with an RSI-specific argument layout and copy the challenge into an explicit 64-byte array. This keeps the existing a1-a8 argument encoding while giving the copy a correctly sized destination object. CVE-2026-93207 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: SUNRPC: Zero rpc_gss_wire_cred at svcauth_gss_decode_credbody() entry svcauth_gss_decode_credbody() writes the caller's rpc_gss_wire_cred field by field and assigns gc_ctx.len only on the success tail. The caller storage is svcdata->clcred, which lives in the per-svc_rqst gss_svc_data and is reused across requests. Early decode failures leave partially decoded state mixed with residue from the prior request. The trailing body_len tightness check is the sharpest case: xdr_stream_decode_opaque_inline() has already written gc_ctx.data with a borrowed inline pointer into the current request's XDR pages, but gc_ctx.len retains its prior value. Once the request pages are released the pooled clcred carries a dangling pointer paired with a stale length. Zero the caller's rpc_gss_wire_cred at function entry so that every early-return path leaves a deterministic all-zero cred. On the trailing tightness-check path, gc_ctx.len is now zero instead of stale, which neuters length-driven consumers such as gss_svc_searchbyctx() that would otherwise walk the dangling data pointer.
CVE-2026-97425 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: fix buffer overflow during vBIOS update Clamp the buffer postion to write by setting the bin attribute to the maximum buffer size so that VFS layer will block the out-of-bounds accessing.
CVE-2026-67549 1 Academysoftwarefoundation 1 Openimageio 2026-09-24 7.6 High
OpenImageIO is a toolset for reading, writing, and manipulating image files of any image file format relevant to VFX / animation. Prior to 3.1.16.0, A crafted 1-bit contiguous cmyk tiff is exposed through a native uint1 imagespec, so callers allocate a bit-packed buffer. tiffinput::read_native_scanline_locked() nevertheless invokes tiffinput::bit_convert() with 8-bit output and writes one expanded byte per value into that smaller buffer, resulting in a heap out-of-bounds write and memory corruption. The affected implementation is identified by src/tiff.imageio/tiffinput.cpp, TIFFInput::bit_convert(), TIFFInput::read_native_scanline_locked(), PHOTOMETRIC_SEPARATED, 1-bit CMYK, and native uint1 ImageSpec, which define the relevant source path, functions, state, and trigger. This issue is fixed in 3.1.16.0.
CVE-2026-63199 1 Perses 1 Perses 2026-09-24 7.7 High
Perses is an open-source dashboard and visualization project for observability data. From 0.43.0 until 0.54.0-rc.0, the datasource creation and unsaved datasource proxy paths authorize the caller on a Datasource or GlobalDatasource scope but do not require read permission for the separately grantable associated project or global Secret before resolving it. A low-privilege user with GlobalDatasource:create or corresponding project datasource creation rights can attach a project or global Secret that the user cannot otherwise read, point the datasource at a service controlled by the user, and cause Perses to send the decrypted secret in plaintext, bypassing project and global scope separation. This issue is fixed in version 0.54.0-rc.0.
